Morgan announces details for new single “My Year”

Morgan has announced the details for her new single.

The British singer/songwriter (born Morgan Connie Smith) christened “My Year” as her next promotional cut and will release it on March 5th via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

Morgan wrote “My Year” alongside fellow recording artist L Devine (Icona Pop, Folly Rae) and Barney Lister (Joy Crookes, Mette Towley).

Her yet-to-be-titled debut project is expected to arrive later this year via Rudimental’s label Major Tom’s Music.

Among the songwriters and producers Morgan has worked with are Daecolm (Kara Marni, Chris Brown), Lost Boy (Ella Eyre, Anne-Marie), Jay Weathers (Stormzy, Melissa Steel) and Loose Change (Olly Murs, Little Mix).

Paloma Faith teams up with Jonas Blue for new single “Mistakes”

Paloma Faith has teamed up with Jonas Blue for his new single “Mistakes,” which is now available via is iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

Released under A Positiva / Virgin EMI Records, “Mistakes” was co-written by Uzoechi “MNEK” Emenike and James “Boy Matthews” Norton and collectively produced by Jonas Blue and Aaron Zuckerman.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Faith is expected to release her fifth studio album later this year via Sony Music Entertainment / RCA Records Label UK.

The follow-up to 2017’s “The Architect” reportedly boasts songwriting contributions from Diane Warren, Ruth-Anne Cunningham, Clarence Coffee Jr, Andrew “BullySongs” Bullimore, Cleo Tighe, and Janee “Jin Jin” Bennett.

On the production front, Faith has worked with Grades, Fred Ball, Starsmith, Dave Okumu, George Moore, Stephan Moccio, Detonate, Tre Jean-Marie, AC Burrell, Digital Farm Animals, Patrick Wimberley, Fred Ball, and Mojam.

Jessie Ware has announced the details for her upcoming album.

The British singer/songwriter christened her third studio collection “What’s Your Pleasure?” and will release it on June 5th via PMR Records in partnership with Universal Music Group / Virgin EMI Records.

Current promotional single “Spotlight” – which was written by Ware alongside Alexandra “Shungudzo” Govere, Danny Parker and James Ford – is now available Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

The follow-up to 2017’s “Glasshouse” boasts additional contributions from Adam “Kindness” Bainbridge, Clarence Coffee Jr, Joseph “Metronomy” Mount, Benjamin “Benji B” Benstead, Midland, Daniel “Grades” Traynor, and Morgan Geist.

Olivia Dean releases new single “Crosswords”

British singer/songwriter Olivia Dean has released her new single online.

“Crosswords”  is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

The track was co-written by Francis “Eg” White, whose recent credits include Celine Dion’s “I Will Be Stronger,” Izzy Bizu’s “This is What We Wanted,” Jasmine Thompson’s “Some People,” Ben Platt’s “Hurt Me Once,” Nao’s “A Life Like This,” Ray Blk’s “Got My Own,” and Maverick Sabre’s “Into Hope.”

Production duties on “Crosswords” were collectively handled by White alongside Felix Joseph, who is also responsible for Mahalia’s “Simmer,” Jorja Smith’s “Wandering Romance,” Elli Ingram’s “Table for Two,” Kwabs’ “Perfect Ruin,” Birdy’s “Take My Heart,” Kevin Garrett’s “Stranglehold.”

Dean’s upcoming project – which reportedly features additional contributions from Jimmy Napes, Anton Goransson, Isabella Sjostrand, Max Wolfgang, Emily Burns, Aston Rudi, Ed Thomas, Marlon Roudette, Fred Cox, Laura Welsh, and Alan Sampson – is expected to arrive later this year via AMF Records.

Diana Gordon returns with new single “Rollin”

Diana Gordon has returned with her new single online.

“Rollin” – which was co-written by Feli Ferraro and collectively produced by Benjmn, The Noise Club, Smash David and Wallis Lane – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

Gordon is expected to release her upcoming project – featuring previous single “Becoming” – later this year via Warner Music Group / Warner Records.

On the songwriting front, Gordon is known co-penning Beyonce’s “Sorry,” Mary J. Blige’s “Gonna Breakthrough,” Dua Lipa’s “Electricity,” Ciara’s “Livin’ It Up,” Fergie’s “Tension,” Rebecca Ferguson’s “Without a Woman,” Jennifer Lopez’s “What is Love?,” and Danity Kane’s “Two of You.”

Mabel releases new single “Boyfriend”

British-Swedish singer/songwriter Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey, known mononymously as Mabel, has released her new single online.

“Boyfriend” – which samples Marlena Shaw’s “Woman of the Ghetto” – is now available via Apple Music and all other digital streaming outlets.

The track was co-written by Mabel alongside Camille “Kamille” Purcell and Steven “Steve Mac” McCutcheon, who previously teamed up with the artist on hit singles “Don’t Call Me Up” (UK No. 3) and “Mad Love” (UK No. 8).

Mabel’s debut studio album, 2019’s “High Expectations,” debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart. She also won the award for Best Female Solo Artist at the 2020 Brit Awards.

Sugababes enlist Sinead Harnett, Monro for new collaboration

British group Sugababes (composed of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhan Donaghey) have added Sinead Harnett and Ross “Monro” James to the list of contributors for their upcoming project.

Harnett previously teamed up with Monro on “Want It With You,” “Him Too,” “Walking Away,” “All That You Are” and “Too Good for a Bad Thing,” taken from her albums “Chapter One” (2017) and “Lessons in Love” (2019), respectively.

As a songwriter, Harnett co-wrote Little Mix’s “One I’ve Been Missing” (w/ Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jez Ashurst and Tre Jean-Marie) and Louise’s “Breaking Back Together” (w/ Adam Argyle and Michael Angelo) and “Give You Up” (w/ Iain James and Phil Cook).

As mentioned in earlier posts, Sugababes are expected to release their next project later this year to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut studio album, “One Touch,” which spawned four singles in the shape of “Overload,” “Run for Cover,” “New Year” and “Soul Sound.”

The still-untitled collection reportedly features additional contributions from Uzoechi “MNEK” Emenike, Aminata Kabba, Dan Caplen, Aston Rudi, Karen Poole, and Craigie Dodds.

Jessie Ware has announced the details for her new single.

The British singer/songwriter (born Jessica Lois Ware) christened “Spotlight” as her next promotional cut and will release it on February 28th via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

“Spotlight” was written by Ware alongside regular collaborators Alexandra “Shungudzo” Govere (Alina Baraz, Louisa Johnson), Danny Parker (Shawn Mendes, Nick Jonas) and James Ford (Haim, Florence and the Machine).

Ware’s most recent studio collection under Island Records UK, 2017’s “Glasshouse,” peaked to number seven on the UK Albums Chart and spawned three singles in the shape of “Midnight,” “Selfish Love” and “Alone.”

Lianne La Havas unleashes new single “Bittersweet”

“Bittersweet” – which was collectively produced by Havas alongside Beni Giles and Matt “Aqualung” Hales – is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and all other digital streaming platforms.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Havas’ upcoming third studio album is scheduled to arrive later this year via Warner Music Group / Warner Records UK.

The follow-up to 2015’s “Blood” reportedly features additional productions and songwriting contributions from Bruno Major, Kito, Jeff Gitty, Kamille, Sam Crowe, Nao, Mark Guilina, Loxe, Andy Vickery, and Grades.

Alicia Keys records new music with IzyBeats, P2J

American singer/songwriter Alicia Keys has recorded new music with P2J and Izy Beats alongside Swizz Beatz and Jamaican recording artist Proteje. It is yet to be known whether this session is intended for a future Proteje release or Keys’ upcoming studio album, “ALICIA.”

IzyBeats production credits include Jorja Smith’s “Be Honest” and Koffee’s “Rapture.” The Jamaican-born, Miami based producer has also contributed to the next projects by Kasai, Ne-Yo, and Claudia Valentina.

Meanwhile, P2J is responsible for producing Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl,” Doja Cat’s “Addiction,” Jaz Karis’ “Summer Story,” Miraa May’s “Bad Behaviour,” Snoh Aalegra’s “Situationship,” and Justine Skye’s “Secrets.”

The follow-up to 2016’s “Here” reportedly boasts additional songwriting contributions from Tricky Stewart, Pierre Medor, Jeremiah Bethea, Emeli Sande, Linda Perry, Jimmy Napes, Arrow Benjamin, and Fred Ball.
