Alicia Keys signs with Universal Music Publishing Group

American singer, songwriter, and record producer Alicia Keys has signed with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG).

The publishing house is also home to top artists & songwriters including SZA, Adele, Eminem, Billie Eilish, Elton John, Keith Urban, Prince, Shawn Mendes, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, Ariana Grande, & more!

Through the new partnership, UMPG will support Keys’ iconic music – both existing songs and future works – for creative opportunities around the world.

Keys’ most recent studio collection, 2016’s “Here,” peaked to number two on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and spawned singles “In Common” and “Blended Family (What You Do for Love).”

Her upcoming seventh album – featuring current single “Raise a Man” (which was co-written by The-Dream and co-produced by Larrance Dopson) – is expected to arrive later this year via RCA Records.

The still-untitled project reportedly delivers additional contributions from Raphael Saadiq, Emeli Sande, Tricky Stewart, Pierre Medor, Jeremiah Bethea, Linda Perry, Arrow Benjamin, and Fred Ball.

As a songwriter, Keys has penned songs for Whitney Houston (“Million Dollar Bill”), Madonna (“Living for Love”), Christina Aguilera (“Impossible”), Jennifer Hudson (“Everybody Needs Love”), Emeli Sande (“Hope”), Miguel (“Where the Fun in Forever”) and David Guetta (“What I Did for Love”).

Liza Owen signs worldwide publishing deal with Reservoir Media Management

Liza Owen has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Reservoir Media Management, which also houses fellow songwriters including Ali Tamposi, Carla Marie Williams, Ina Wroldsen, and Lauren Christy.

The British-Cambodian singer/songwriter recently co-penned “16 Steps” for Martin Jensen and Olivia Holt alongside Tamposi, John “JRY” Ryan, and AFTERHRS (aka Andrew Haas and Ian Franzino).

Owen’s promotional singles “Better with Me,” “Don’t Call Me Baby” and “Fallin” are now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming outlets.

Her resume boasts additional works with songwriters/producers including Goldfingers, Chloe Angelides, Teddy Geiger, Emily Weisband, Jesse Saint John, Tayla Parx, Big Taste, Steph Jones, Julian Bunetta, Shungudzo, Danny Parker, Ilsey Juber, Knighstarr, Sarah Hudson, and Steve Mac.

Louise Redknapp signs new publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music

British singer/songwriter Louise Redknapp, known mononymously as Louise, has signed a new publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music and is currently working on her upcoming fifth studio collection.

The global publishing music company also houses artists, songwriters, and producers including Mattman & Robin, Jay Z, Beyoncé, Ian Kirkpatrick, Katy Perry, Ashley Gorley, Julia Michaels, Raye, Scott Harris, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Madonna, Justin Tranter, Asia Whiteacre, Birdy, & more.

For her next project, Louise has worked with songwriters and fellow recording artists including Katy B, Sinead Harnett, Maiday, Negin Djafari, Dyo, Grace Tither, Carla Monroe, Jaxxon, Rachel Furner, Bryn Christopher, Iain James, Liam O’Donnell, Andrew Jackson, and Jacob Attwooll.

Among the producers Louise has worked with are EASYFUN, Jim Duguid, Michael Angelo, Ollie Green, Jonny Hockings, Lostboy, Phil Cook, Jez Ashurst, Adam Argyle, P3OPLE, Bradford Ellis, Sam Klempner, and LDN Noise.

Normani Kordei signs publishing deal with Stellar Songs

American singer, songwriter, and dancer Normani Kordei has signed a new publishing deal with Stellar Songs.

Founded by Tim Blacksmith and Danny D, Stellar Songs also houses artists, songwriters and producers including Stargate, Emeli Sande, Kiesza, Sam Smith, Autumn Rowe, Diztortion, Charli XCX, Girli, Netsky, and Grace Carter.

As mentioned in earlier posts, Kordei’s upcoming debut album – featuring contributions from Bonnie McKee, August Rigo, Tayla Parx, Boi-1da, and Stargate – is scheduled to arrive later this year.

Kordei has also recorded a new duet with fellow recording artist Khalid entitled “Love Lies,” taken from the upcoming original motion picture soundtrack “Love, Simon.” The track was co-written by Tayla Parks alongside Ryan “Charlie Handsome” Vojtesak and Jamil “Digi” Chammas.

Kyla signs new publishing deal with BMG

British singer/songwriter Kyla Marie Smith, mononymously known as Kyla, has signed a new publishing deal with BMG.

Known in the UK for her singles “Do You Mind” and “Daydreaming,” Kyla shot to international stardom by providing guest vocals on Drake’s “One Dance,” which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.

Her current promotional single “Should’ve Been Me,” with UK Record producer Naughty Boy and Jamaican dancehall star Popcaan, is now available via iTunes and all other digital streaming platforms.

In addition to Mustafa Omer and James Murray of Mojam Music, who co-produced Naughty Boy’s “Should’ve Been Me,” Kyla has recorded further material with producers including Invisible Men (Kylie Minogue), Zac Samuel (Taya), Starsmith (Ellie Goulding), Moon Willis (Anne-Marie), Youthonix (Tanika), Sacha Skarbek (Miley Cyrus) and Banx & Ranx (Dua Lipa).

Among the songwriters Kyla has worked with are Andrea Martin (Monica), Lindy Robbins (Jason Derulo), Dayo Olatunji (Ella Henderson), Carmen Reece (Nathan Sykes), Eyelar (Tinashe), Carla Marie Williams (Craig David), Jenna Andrews (Kiesza), Negin Djafari (Bobii Lewis) and Alicia Renee (Tamia).

Kara DioGuardi signs new publishing deal with Warner / Chappell Music

According to recent article by Billboard magazine, Kara DioGuardi has signed a new deal with Warner/Chappell Music.

The publishing company houses other musicians including The-Dream, Ross Golan, Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, Taylor Parks, Zac Poor, Ilya Salmanzadeh, PartyNextDoor, Sean Douglas, Ian Kirkpatrick, and Mattman & Robin.

Meanwhile, DioGuardi’s resume includes works with Pink (“Sober”), Kelly Clarkson (“Heartbeat Song”), Britney Spears (“Heaven on Earth”), Christina Aguilera (“Ain’t No Other Man”), Ashlee Simpson (“Pieces of Me”), Nicole Scherzinger (“Baby Love”), and Katy Perry (“I Do Not Hook Up”).

She’s also known for collaborating with top producers such as will.i.am, Greg Wells, Cutfather, John Shanks, Dr. Luke, Toby Gad, Jonathan Rotem, DJ Premier, Jason Evigan, Mitch Allan, Greg Kurstin, and Harvey Mason Jr.
